Century Fighting Championship Brings MMA Action to New Hampshire
Mixed Martial Arts action returns to the ICENTER in Salem, New Hampshire for the first time in over 2 years with several featured fights that will give fans the opportunity to see some well-known Stars of MMA; a couple possibly for the final time.
February 14, 2012 /Mens Interest PR News/ -- Fans of MMA action in New Hampshire will be pleased to know that Century Fighting Championship is holding an event at the ICENTER in Salem, NH on March 31st, 2012. The Main Event pits 15-time UFC veteran Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis against 2-time Bellator fighter Matt Sung Lee. The Massachusetts resident Lee is coming off of a "Fight of the Night" win in November over veteran Tiawan Howard, following a bloody battle at Bellator with Ben Saunders. The Maine native Davis is coming off of his first loss in 4 fights, following his UFC release; dropping a close decision to UFC/TUF 13 cast member Chuck O'Neil.
In the Co-Main Event, UFC veteran Dan "The Upgrade" Lauzon takes on 1xStrikeforce fighter Don Carlo-Clauss. Carlo-Clauss is a member of New York's Team BombSquad with UFC's Christian Morecraft and Bellator's Rene Nazare and holds a win over M1 fighter Joshua Thorpe and 12-2 New England prospect Calvin Kattar. He's coming off of a dominate 2nd round TKO win over John Ortoloni in January. 20-fight veteran Lauzon has rattled off 4 wins in a row since his release from the UFC, including first round stoppages in his last 3 bout. With a record of 16-4 and only allowing one fight to make it to the judges, the 23 years old Lauzon could be returning to the big stage with a decisive victory.
One of the most anticipated bouts in the region is set when New Hampshire's (6-2) Cody Lightfoot takes on New York's (6-3) Mike Stewart. Lightfoot's coming off a Doctor's stoppage (due to cut) loss to top ranked Greg Rebello. Unable to get a rematch, Lightfoot has signed on to face Stewart who is coming off of a win over Rebello
